Nettles from Harvest to Plate

In this Wyomanock Center for Sustainable Living workshop you will learn to identify and sustainably harvest nettles, as well as prepare a delicious nettle pesto.

Nettles are a delicious and nutritious wild food found all over the world. High in vitamins, trace minerals and vegetable protein, they add a healthy boost to your Spring diet.

Nettles have been used for centuries to treat allergy symptoms, arthritis pain, prostatitis, asthma and high blood pressure. Our focus is using herbs as food to bring the body nutrition that can’t be found at the grocery store.

Please bring garden gloves, a pair of scissors or small pruners and tick repellent. Long pants are optional, but advised.
