This HVCC Community Education program is a five mile round trip walk that will include information about the history of the Old Rutland Railroad line. Plus a botanist will point out rare plants, trees, vines, native and non-native species.
This natural surface rail-trail follows the route of the Rutland Railroad, which carried freight and passengers until 1952. This section of tracks was nicknamed "The Corkscrew" because of its tight turns between hills.
